Johnny Depp has been good for a long time

No matter what you think of the performance of Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest and Jack Sparrow being portrayed by Johnny Depp and it's record shattering box office have to be impressed that Depps career and it's roller coasters despite the commitment to excellence has brought him to thgis place. Starting humbly in 1984's A Nightmare On Elm Street , most didnt become real familiar with him until 21 Jump Street as Officer Tom Hanson, and then've got to prove it on the big screen, and Depp did in Edward Scissorhands, Benny & Joon and a fantastic What's Eating Gilbert Grape. His acting diversity is shown with good performances in Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, the Hunter S. Thompson inspired pic. Probably the least I have liked was Sleepy Hollow, and way understated in Chocolat followed by the overstated Blow, He comes wayyyy into his own with Secret Window (If you missed this you missed ALOT). He took Charlie and the Chocolate Factory beyond what anyone else could have, and watch out for another Hunter S. Thompson inspiration scheduled in 2007, The Rum Diary ! He's on top ... and frankly, aren't you glad that America's favorite movie star is NOT Brad Pitt and NOT Tom Cruise ?
